UnPlugged, the first community potluck hosted by Humboldt Village, called a Power Down event in appreciation of the end of cheap oil, was a great success. More than twice the expected number of thirty showed up for the event, which was was co-sponsored by Humboldt Permaculture Guild. The food tables were crowded with delectable foods brought by those attending., and diners were serenaded by live music performances.
The candle-lit gathering at Garden Bliss in Arcata featured Kathleen Lee, lecturer in the Department of Politics at Humboldt State University, speaking on Community Responses to Peak Oil. A lively Q&A session followed.
